Mowgli is a striking bi-color male currently weighing 85 pounds. He is the son of the incredible and massive Jet, a renowned stud dog whose lineage was highly respected across Slovakia and the Czech Republic. We were fortunate enough to purchase Jet and later place him with a local client here in the United States.
We were also very fortunate to purchase Mowgli from a close family who has raised several exceptional dogs for us over the years. He grew up in a loving home with three girls, ages 7 to 14, along with two other German Shepherds. That kind of upbringing gave him an outstanding foundation of drive, confidence, and socialization, which is exactly the kind of start we look for when selecting dogs for our program.
Mowgli’s temperament makes him an excellent fit for an active family looking for both a true companion and a highly capable protection dog. He loves being part of whatever is going on, whether that is family activities, training, or simply spending time with his people. He has a playful, goofy side that brings a lot of fun to everyday life, paired with a happy, easygoing nature around both people and other dogs.
At just a year and a half old, Mowgli is at an ideal stage in his development and training. He would thrive in an active household, especially one with multiple pets. While most dogs naturally bond most closely with the person who handles them the most, Mowgli is comfortable and responsive with everyone in the family, including children. That makes him an easy and enjoyable dog for the entire family to live with, work with, and love.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Mowgli is exceptionally strong in both confidence and natural ability when it comes to protection work. He gives everything he has when asked to engage, showing real intensity in both his aggression and his bite. Protection is never just about whether a dog is willing to bark or bite. It is also about intensity, commitment, and intent. Mowgli has proven time and time again that he is willing to fight, push through pressure, and stay committed in the work. When asked, he brings serious power and conviction. As he becomes integrated into his new family and fully settles into the home, he will also naturally become territorial over his environment.
At CPI, we are intentional about the dogs we bring into our program and the number of dogs we place each year, because the right development takes time. Mowgli is receiving the kind of hands-on training that allows us to build him the right way in public, in the home, and in real protection scenarios. He continues to show impressive progress and the natural qualities that make him such a standout. With each stage of training, he is becoming more and more of what families come to us for in a top-tier protection dog. Mowgli is expected to be ready for delivery to his new family in the summer of 2026.
