The best way to describe Balder is to compare him to the one friend you have from your childhood, that at any moment is a call away, and would go to the ends of earth for you. Balder loves hard, when in the heel position, he stares up at you with the most loving eyes you could ever imagine. When he is not in a command, he loves to be around you and follow you everywhere, and most of all he loves to have your back, anytime, anywhere.

In everyday life, Balder is friendly towards everyone, he was raised with kids and two small dogs, along with an older male German Shepherd. He thoroughly enjoys the company of other dogs. Although Balder does great in a setting with kids, he thrives in a one on one relationship. This is where he shines. When Balder bonds to you, you have another set of eyes and ears constantly looking out for you. Balder is naturally territorial of the house and property, alerting you to strangers stopping by.

Balder's look alone is enough to scare most intruders or attackers away. His piercing stare when focused on his target makes it appear that he is staring through the decoy, making them nervous with anticipation. When instructed to he starts barking and foaming at the mouth, almost as if he is yelling at them. When he hits, the look in his eye matches up to what he brings to the fight, he bites hard and hits with enough momentum to make the decoy feel as if he is going though them.
