Belgian Malinois

Bryce is a sweet, happy, lighthearted gentle giant weighing in at upwards of 90 lbs! In a world of sixty-five to seventy pound Belgian Malinois, that's enormous!!

Bryce was raised in a family with young children in the city of Lille, in the north of France. He was competitively trained as well as titled in French Ring Sport (most difficult European dog sport). In a dog sport where more men compete than women, Bryce happened to be trained and handled by his "mother". In spite of Bryce's size, power and bold personality, he is very easy to handle.

A place within French Ring Sport that dogs often loose points are the jumps. They require great agility. That is part of the reason why the Belgian Malinois chosen for Ring Sport are most often correct to the standard of 65 pounds. They need to be in order to be competitive. Bryce excels in spite of his size. He was recently referred to by a top competitor as an elephant that moves like a Gazelle!

Not surprising given his size, in protection Bryce is a powerhouse. This has included bringing experienced decoys (trainers wearing bite suits) to their knees. While he is very accepting of friends and family, and wonderful in public, he is keenly aware of anyone with potentially questionable intent.

Also interesting is Bryce's ability to secure a house. No one is allowed in unless invited. That is from day one!
